CIA'den Open Source Center

Geçen hafta yayınlanan bir habere göre CIA, topluma açık bilgilerden istihbarat amacıyla yararlanmak için bir organizasyon kurmuş.

Open Source Center ismiyle anılacak olan bu merkez, Internet, ticari veritabanları, periyodik yayınlar, radyo, video, haritalar ve diğer basılı kaynaklar üzerinden bilgi edinip bunları ülke çıkarları doğrultusunda kullanacak.

Klasik kaynakları daha önce kullanmakta olan, dünya çapında dinleme operasyonlarına sahip organizasyonun, sokaktaki insanın erişebileceği bilgilerden ne gibi sonuçlar çıkartabileceği merakla bekleniyor.

Good Will Hunting (Can Dostum) filminde, Will Hunting'in yaptığı "Why shouldn't I work for the N.S.A.?" konuşması geldi aklıma.

And of course the oil companies used the skirmish to scare up oil prices so they could turn a quick buck. A cute little ancillary benefit for them but it ain't helping my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. And naturally they're takin' their sweet time bringin' the oil back, and maybe even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and play slalom with the icebergs, and it ain't too long 'til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So my buddy's out of work and he can't afford to drive, so he's got to walk to the job interviews, which sucks 'cause the shrapnel in his ass is givin' him chronic hemorrhoids. And meanwhile he's starvin' 'cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat the only blue plate special they're servin' is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what do I think? I'm holdin' out for somethin' better. Why not just shoot my buddy, take his job and give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president.

Badtrans Virüsü

27 Kasım Bilgisayar güvenliği uzmanları Badtrans adı verilen bir virüsün Avrupa ve ABDde binlerce bilgisayarı etkilediğini ve hızla yayıldığını açıkladılar.

NTVMSNBC`de yayınlanan habere göre, bilgisayarları etkilemek için farklı metodlar kullanan virüs, bazı kullanıcıları e - postalarını açmadan da etkiliyebiliyor. Virüs enfekte ettiği bilgisayardaki dosyaları araştırarak gizli bilgileri çalmaya çalışıyor.

PHP 5.2 ile beraber PHP'de setcookie() fonksiyonuna 7.parametre olarak httponly desteği gelmiş.

Httponly çerezlere Javascript ile ulaşılamadığı için xss ataklarının en tehlikelisi olan cookie çalma olayı ortadan kalkıyor.

Şu an tek sorun her tarayıcı tarafından desteklenmemesi, ama yakında bir çok tarayıcı yeni sürümünde bu standartlara uyacaktır tahminimce.IE 7 ile en güvenli şekilde bu özelliği destekliyor, fakat mozilla şaşırtıcı bir şekilde desteklemiyor.

Trusted Computing Hakkında Bir Sunum

RMS'in "Treacherous (Hileci) computing" diye yorumladığı TC, Microsoft, Intel, IBM, HP ve AMD'nin birarada yeraldığı nadir projelerden biri. İki ayrı kalitedeki (25MB/50Mb) sunumu izleyin ne demek istediğimi daha iyi anlayacaksınız. Ben şimdiye kadar daha iyi bir sunum izlemedim.

Japonya Mc Donalds promosyonal olarak dağıttığı 10000 flashdisk Mp3 playerlerin spywareli olduğu ortaya çıktı. Sözkonusu spyware programının bulaştığı bilgisayarlarda kullanıcı isimleri ve şifreleri saldırganlara iletebileceği anlaşıldı.
